“Doctor’s Dilemma” Play Reading
March 26, 2007
The philandering, but brilliant artist or the impoverished, but honest doctor, both dying, and both under the care of a physician who can treat only one – but which one? This impossible dilemma was the cornerstone of Doctor’s Dilemma, and on March 26th, the Milwaukee Rep Interns opened our 2007 Play Reading season with George Bernard Shaw’s skewering of the upper class and the medical profession, and offered those in attendance a glimpse into why Doctor’s Dilemma, starring the Lunts, earned radiant reviews when it was first performed in 1927, and why it still intrigues and engages audiences today.
