Christiana Clark

Christiana Clark is a proud Southside Chicago native who cut her teeth in the Twin Cities theatre community
working with incredible artists such as Marion McClinton, Lou Bellamy, and Faye Price at Penumbra, Pillsbury
House, The Guthrie, Ten Thousand Things Theatre and more.

 

She’s most recently been onstage at The McCarter playing an Agatha Christie unlike any other in MRS. CHRISTIE. She made her Broadway debut covering the role of Mrs. Muller in Roundabout's revival of DOUBT.
Off-Broadway credits include blood work with National Black Theatre, the multi Audelco Award winning production Pure Confidence at 59E59, and the Lortel nominated FLEX at Lincoln Center. Her work has been
seen regionally from The Shakespeare Theatre in DC to The Goodman, Dallas Theatre Center and Berkeley Rep to name a few; and she spent nine years as a company member of The Oregon Shakespeare Festival Theatre.

 

She's been honored to originate characters in World Premieres by phenomenal playwrights such as Regina
Taylor, Christian Anderson, Richard Greenberg, and Universes Theatre Collective; plus breathe new life into
classics with the likes of Lileana Blain-Cruz, Bill Rauch, Bob Falls, and Mary Zimmerman to name a few.

 

The only professional theater she saw before she was in acting school at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles was Drury Lane Theater’s production of Rumpelstiltskin in her first grade year. She can still
remember how moved she was as a six-year-old to screaming Rumpelstiltskin at the top of her voice in an
effort to help break the curse. Though the GoodmanTheatre was not that far from where she would lay her
head, the actuality of going there was something that was never present in her life. What was available were late
night reruns of I love Lucy, school speech meet competitions, and church Easter plays and Christmas cantatas which she threw herself into head on heart full.

 

Her first time on stage with the Goodman Theatre was 2010/11’s The Trinity River plays by the phenomenal Regina Taylor followed in 2019 for Bob Falls The Winter’s Tale and since production has been back up post Covid, she has been on stage at the Goodman at least one show every season. Something that she pinches herself to feel the beautiful reality of. She uses her own non theatre background as a driver for how she works- head on heart full and intentionally accessible for those who otherwise may not see themselves in the world of "theatre".
