David Manis
Lincoln Center Theater
New York, NY
David Manis is a true creature of the stage. He is tall, imposing, has a glorious voice and is superbly trained. He is versatile and transformative.
As he has gotten older, his virtues as a performer are more and more golden and more and more in demand.
David has acted in many plays here at Lincoln Center Theater; he has even understudied or stood by for some of our leading actors.
I will never forget the time when Richard Easton, a beloved elderly actor, collapsed on stage during our production of Tom Stoppard’s The Coast of Utopia. David Manis, as Richard’s understudy, was able to go right on and be brilliant.
David is a modest person and perhaps that is why he is not a big star…yet. But his work ethic, kindness, and plain old talent will take him far for the rest of his life. He is one of Lincoln Center Theaters most admired and treasured artists.
